What do notaries do?
During a notarization process, a notary will typically perform the following:
Verify the signer's identity: They will ask for a valid government-issued ID (driver's license, passport, etc.) to confirm the signer's identity.
Confirm will: They will ensure that the signatory willingly signs the document and understands its contents. Notaries cannot force anyone to sign a document.
Witness Signature: They will observe the signing process and ensure that it is done correctly.
Complete notarization act: They will fill out and place an official notarial seal on a deed attached to the document, which proves that the deed was made.
